St. John’s Senior High Youth Ministry Board is our student leadership group for our ministry and fellowship. This group is planning our Fall and Winter events for this year. Here are some of the scheduled events:
- September 10th – 9th Graders Welcome to Youth Ministry- an overnight fun lock-in to welcome 9th graders!
- October 8/9th – LOCK-IN- 8 PM – 8 AM at CHURCH for all Senior High starting in the SHYR!
- October 27th – Trunk or Treat- Fun Halloween Event for kids of Church: 5 – 6 PM in the Parking Lot of Church
- November 3rd – - Rake N Run Service Project Raking leaves for elderly of our Church – Bring your own rake!
- November 19/20 – - Senior High Retreat Overnight Retreat for Senior High
Our FIRST Youth Ministry Board Overnight Training and Fun Night is now CHANGED to Saturday/Sunday, August 13th/14th. All current and future YMB members should attend this night to learn more about the Youth Ministry Board and to bond together as a group. The Youth Ministry Board is our student leadership group that meets monthly to advise the youth minister and to plan youth ministry programs and activities. Our group is made up of teens who are UNASHAMED of being a Christian and are willing to learn how to be a leader in our youth ministry.
All high school youth are welcome to join the Youth Ministry Board. We meet the first Sunday morning of each month at 11:15 AM in the senior high youth room. Here are the responsibilities of a member of the Youth Ministry Board:
- Attend all YMB meetings
- Participate in youth ministry programs and activities
- Do assigned tasks for upcoming events and programs
- Promote events and programs to other teens
- Lead by example – be a Christian others look up to.

I Am a Disciple
I am part of the community of the unashamed
I have the Holy Spirit power.
I am a disciple of His.
I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.
My past is forgiven, my future is positive.
I am finished and done with small planning,
colorless dreams, tamed visions and small goals.
I no longer need positions or popularity.
I don’t have to be right, first, recognized, praised or rewarded.
I now live by faith and lean on God’s presence.
My face is set, my walk is fast, my goal is heaven.
My rod is narrow, my way rough.
My guide is reliable, and my mission is clear.
I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured,
lured away, turned back, deluded or delayed.
I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice,
hesitate in the presence of adversary,
negotiate at the table of the enemy,
ponder at the pool of popularity,
or meander in the maze of mediocrity.
I won’t give up, shut up, or let up,
until I have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up
and preached up for the cause of Christ.
I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, I must go till He comes,
give till I drop, preach until everyone knows
and work till He tells me it’s enough.
And when HE comes for His own¦
He will have no problem recognizing me¦
