Confirmation

Here at St. John’s, we offer a Fall Confirmation for all the youth who have been preparing for the Rite through Thrive.  This is done on Reformation Sunday and is done in a special worship service in a large group.  Typically, the group consists of the Fall’s 9th graders.  We have traditionally done this special Rite of Confirmation service in the main Church at 11:30 AM with all of the Pastors participating.

Spring Rite of Confirmation! We also have a spring Rite of Confirmation for high school and college youth who have not been confirmed and would like to participate in the Rite. This is held on Pentecost Sunday each year. The next Spring Rite of Confirmation is Sunday, June 12th, 2011. If you have not been confirmed and would like to get more information about the Spring Rite, please contact Steve Terry at the Church, 309 827-6121.

The Fall Rite of Confirmation is Sunday, October 30 at 3 PM. If you would like to participate in this rite, please contact Steve Terry at 309 827-6121 (215) to get all the information necessary.

We ask that all youth wanting to participate in the Rite of Confirmation meet two major requirements:

1. To do a Faith Share, which is a faith witness at one of the many worship services at St. John’s.  To help you prepare for this we ask that you meet with one of the Pastors and choose a bible passage. A schedule list will be available at the Parent Confirmation Information Meeting in the Spring. and
2.  To participate in the Faith 101 class which is held in the Fall a couple of weeks before the Rite of Confirmation.
