Here at St. John’s, we offer a Fall Confirmation for all the youth who have been preparing for the Rite through Thrive.  This is done on Reformation Sunday and is done in a special worship service in a large group.  Typically, the group consists of the Fall’s 9th graders.  We have traditionally done this special Rite of Confirmation service in the main Church at 11:30 AM with all of the Pastors participating.

This year, the fall Rite of Confirmation is on October 25, 2009 and will be held in the Church’s Nave starting at 11:30 AM.
Important Dates for Confirmation 2009: Oct. 25 – Rehearsal & Dinner, 4:30 to 7:30 starting in the Nave. Dinner will be in the new Fellowship Hall.

We ask that all youth wanting to participate in the Rite of Confirmation meet two major requirements: 

1.  To do a Faith Share, which is a faith witness at one of the many worship services at St. John’s.  To help you prepare for this we ask that you meet with one of the Pastors   and choose a bible passage.  A schedule list will be available at the Parent Confirmation Information Meeting in the Spring. and
2.  To participate in the Faith 101 class which is held in the Fall a couple of weeks before the Rite of Confirmation. 

The Faith Share and Faith 101 are the only requirements we ask to prepare your youth for the Rite of Confirmation. Now, the Spring Rite of Confirmation is for those high school or college youth who have not yet been confirmed.  They are asked to contact the Youth Minister and attend an Confirmation Information Meeting and then do both the Faith Share and Faith 101 class.  The Spring Confirmation is not available to the 8th graders preparing for the regular Rite of Confirmation in the fall. 
      

The Spring Rite of Confirmation is held on Pentecost Sunday, which is May 23, 2010 this year. All high school or college aged youth can be involved in the Spring Rite of Confirmation.
