Sign up now to Volunteer—Our amazing VBS week is the result of the work of 150+ volunteers, from greeters to kitchen helpers, to station leaders, to decoration gurus, to crew leaders, and on and on! There is truly something for everyone, from an hour-long service project to a week-long commitment.
Current volunteers must have a background check on file by June 10, 2018. If you plan to volunteer, but aren't sure you've submitted a background check yet, please fill out the permission-for-background-check.pdf and return it to the church office.
For parents considering joining us for 2018 VBS, please read the following information to learn more about our program:
All children will check-in and receive their name tags in the Atrium (south main entrance) on Monday, June 11, starting at 8:45 AM. Tables will be divided alphabetically and your child’s crew number will be printed on his/her name tag. After signing in and picking up your child’s name tag, please take your child to:
- PRESCHOOL (3s-Kindergarten)—crews P1-P10 will start in the Fellowship Hall each day (near west main entrance), crews P11-P2 will start in the Loft each day (upper level, south side).
- ELEMENTARY (1st-5th grade)—proceed to the Parish Life Center (near south main entrance)
Beginning Tuesday at 8:45 AM (Preschool) and 9 AM (Elementary), children will need to be signed in and signed out each day with their Crew Leaders in either the Fellowship Hall or Loft (Preschool) or Parish Life Center (Elementary).
Sign out your child with his/her Crew Leader at noon each day. Children are to stay with their Crew Leaders until their parent or guardian signs them out. Please return your child’s name tag to his/her Crew Leader at the end of each day. Each day children will have a craft or Sciency-Fun Gizmo to bring home. Bible Buddies will be sent home as a set at the end of the week.
NEW THIS YEAR, both Preschool and Elementary children will end their day in the Parish Life Center. All are welcome and encouraged to join for Closing at 11:30 AM each day. You’ll have an opportunity to see fun pictures taken that day during the Spotlight VBS portion of closing!
Please note your child's allergy and medical information on the registration form in the space provided. Parents of children with allergies will received detailed information about each day's snack, plus have the option to bring an alternative snack each day. Snacks for those will allergies are clearly denoted in the kitchen to ensure they get to the correct child, and leaders have allergy information on their person at all times.
Donations and Offering
Please encourage your child to bring an offering each day to put toward our annual VBS giving goal.
Please have your children wear closed-toe shoes to fully and safely participate in all activities.
Watch for God Bracelets
The children will be learning to see God everywhere, every day. They will be wearing home a bracelet to remind them to watch for God! Please encourage your child to wear it every day during VBS week.
Sunday, June 17
VBS children will sing in the 11 AM service. This is a contemporary service and dress is casual. Children with speaking parts need to meet on the stairs nearest the PLC stage by 10:40 AM. After singing, children will sit with their families. If you have a small child, please come forward to help your child after he/she sings.
