Markings

July 1st, 2009

Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand
     and
marked off the heavens with a span,
enclosed the dust of the earth in a measure,
and weighed the mountains in scales
and the hills in a balance?

Isaiah 40:12 (NRSV)

Can you imagine creating EVERYTHING?  Really, no you can’t.  I can’t even figure out my toaster oven so good golly over our folly in trying to come close to understanding how God did it and does it.

The Fellowship Hall progress report is that signs of rebuilding are present especially on the lower level.  Markings on the floor now indicate walls and such.  Duct work and strange contraptions can be eyed around the area.  I still have no idea how it all comes together but… I trust that it will.  God has a design for everything, really everything.  At St. John’s we continue to build a ministry here and although we can’t always see the final look of a ministry we can see and use the building blocks of what God wants us to do.

Our Blocks: Including all ages, involving every member in ministry, believe and trust in God’s grace, practice hospitality, immerse ourselves in liturgical worship, dive into prayer, get into small groups and have unity in Christ.  Just as a hammer, duct work, a circular saw, a ladder, a door or window is important to building up the Fellowship Hall even more important are the core values we have as a congregation to follow what God has designed for us.

Now, why can’t I get perfect toast I wonder….
