Sexuality Resources for Parents

Thrive
Resources For Your Family In Talking About Sex and Sexuality
Experts agree that talking to your child about sexuality should start as early as children ask about gender differences (in other words not long after they start talking).  Parents of 3-5th graders should be having discussions about puberty. Junior high parents should begin and continue discussions about sex and dating and the discussions should continue more in-depth throughout high school.  The discussion never should end as you have significant discussions with your son or daughter.  Moms and dads are the #1 and #3 source of information about tough topics (like sex) as reported by kids themselves.  Thank you for the courage and nurturing it takes to raise your child in faith!

Our Thrive Guides report that groups are having very meaningful discussions about sexuality and we want to make sure that you as a parent have some additional resources as well.

Again, below are Thrive resources that you may find helpful for perspective or in use for discussion with your son or daughter.

January 7: What Was God Thinking?
January 21: What Went Wrong?
February 4: What’s a Jr. Higher To Do?
February 18:  When Friends Become M
