St. John’s Facility Project Continues . . . updated October 6, 2008

A Church Alive!

BE INVOLVED, BE INFORMED AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE

When St. Paul talks about his congregation in Corinth, he uses the image of parts of the human body working together… each having a different function or gift, but each necessary to make the body whole and healthy. (I Cor. 12). If St. John’s is to be fully A CHURCH ALIVE! it benefits from each member using his or her gift, contributing that gift to the community of saints. That is why we hope that each of you will prayerfully consider WHY you need to become deeply involved in this campaign to assure the growth and health of St. John’s.

The A CHURCH ALIVE! project is a personal journey for each of us. So the committee has provided many unique ways for you to be a part of A CHURCH ALIVE! and to use your gifts to make a difference in our future together as the “body of Christ.”

PERSONALLY - Use the Daily Devotional provided in the packet to center your devotion time and prayer around God’s call to St. John’s and God’s gifts to you.

SMALL GROUPS – Participate in a small group study of GIVING TO GOD, a book about becoming a more generous person.

IN COMMUNITY - Gather with other members in fellowship to hear leaders TELL THE STORY of our ministry opportunities. (Please refer to the page called A Church Alive! Tell the Story events to see the many dates and venues as planned at this time. Watch your mail and email for even more details!

AS A CHURCH WHOLE - Come to worship with the body of Christ to be inspired by sermons about God’s generosity and yours.

Finally, be prayerfully prepared on November 8-9 to add your commitment to achieve our goals for ministry.

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. (I Corinthians 12:27)
