WORSHIP FOR THE FOURTH WEEKEND IN
ADVENT
On this 4th weekend of Advent, the
nearness of Christm
SPAN>as is upon us. The Gospel reading from Luke 1:39-55,
presents us with two women . . . Elizabeth (mother of John the
Baptist) and Mary (mother of Jesus) . . . two women filled with the
Holy Spirit and with deep faith. Their situation in life (Mary is
poor, pregnant and unmarried) is always tempered by a
continual trust in a God who sustains them, lifts them up and "fills
them with good things." When Elizabeth sees Mary, she announces a blessing on
her . . . "Blessed are you
among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." The
witness of faith of these two women is tremendous and inspiring.
Come and join us for worship this weekend.
Our Christmas Eve worship schedule is

PRAYER OF THE DAY: Stir up your
power, Lord Christ, and come. With your abundant grace and
might, free us from the sin that binds us, that we may receive you

and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
