WORSHIP FOR THE FOURTH WEEKEND IN ADVENT

On this 4th weekend of Advent, the nearness of ChristmSt. John'sas is upon us. The Gospel reading from Luke 1:39-55, presents us with two women . . . Elizabeth (mother of John the Baptist) and Mary (mother of Jesus) . . . two women filled with the Holy Spirit and with deep faith. Their situation in life (Mary is poor, pregnant and unmarried) is always tempered by a continual trust in a God who sustains them, lifts them up and "fills them with good things." When Elizabeth sees Mary, she announces a blessing on her . . . "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb." The witness of faith of these two women is tremendous and inspiring. Come and join us for worship this weekend.

Our Christmas Eve worship schedule is designed to meet your needs with the encouragement to bring family and friends with you to services. Traditional worship in the Sanctuary will be at 4:00, 7:00, 9:00 and 11:00 PM. Contemporary Worship will be at 4:00 and 6:00 PM in the Parish Life Center. Pastor David Bruner will be preaching at 4:00 and 6:00 PM (COJ) and 7:00 PM (Traditional.) Pastor Knight Wells will be preaching at 4:00, 9:00 and 11:00 PM (Traditional).

PRAYER OF THE DAY:  Stir up your power, Lord Christ, and come.  With your abundant grace and might, free us from the sin that binds us, that we may receive you in joy and serve you always, for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.  Amen.
