The Easter Season includes seven Sundays which focus on the mystery of Christ's presence among us. This week's Gospel, from John 20:19-31, has the risen Lord appearing to his disciples. In the midst of doubt and uncertainty, Jesus' words to Thomas are ones that are intended to solidify the meaning of that real presence of Christ in our lives and the lives of all believers. The faith journey is truly a journey of ultimate trust in God when there are so many things that we cannot explain or understand. But as people of faith, we draw upon the witnesses of Holy Scripture to enable ourselves to experience the power of that presence each day! John concludes chapter 20 with these words: "Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name."
