CHRIST'S PRESENCE AMONG US

The Easter Season includes seven Sundays which focus on the mystery of Christ's presence among us. This week's Gospel, from John 20:19-31, has the risen Lord appearing to his disciples. In the midst of doubt and uncertainty, Jesus' words to Thomas are ones that are intended to solidify the meaning of that real presence of Christ in our lives and the lives of all believers. The faith journey is truly a journey of ultimate trust in God when there are so many things that we cannot explain or understand. But as people of faith, we draw upon the witnesses of Holy Scripture to enable ourselves to experience the power of that presence each day! John concludes chapter 20 with these words: "Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may come to believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that through believing you may have life in his name." (John 20:30-31) Join us for worship this weekend as we explore the many and various ways in which Christ is alive in our lives today.

REMEMBER ON SATURDAY, APRIL 18TH:

  • Men's Breakfast - 8:00 AM - Fellowship Hall
  • Red Cross Blood Drive - beginning at 7:30 AM in the Parish Life Center

Prayer of the Day: Almighty God, with joy we celebrate the day of our Lord's resurrection. By the grace of Christ among us, enable us to show the power of the resurrection in all that we say and do, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Alive in Christ,

The Rev. Knight Wells
